Catherine Sardella

Catherine M. Sardella, age 80, of 213 Goodspeed Lane, Bloomingdale, died Tuesday, October 07, 2014 at Adirondack Medical Center.

Born in Buffalo, New York on October 16, 1933, she was the daughter of Michael and Rose (Panepinto) Cuviello. She married Paul F. Sardella on June 9, 1956 at Holy Cross Church in Buffalo, NY.

Cathy had been a resident of Saranac Lake area since 1963 coming from Buffalo. She had been employed at St. Bernard’s Church as the Parish Secretary for many years until her retirement. Prior to that she had worked as a Veterinarian Assistant for Dr. Lopez and as a nurse’s aid at the Saranac Lake General Hospital. Cathy was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Bernard and had taught religion there for many years. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her husband Paul F. Sardella of Bloomingdale, three sons Paul Michael Sardella and his wife Cynthia of Keene, NY, Marc Sardella of Albany, NY, and Michael Sardella and his wife Tricia of Peru, NY, one sister Patricia Accordino and her husband Salvatore of Orchard Park, NY, 12 Grand Children , 3 Great Grandchildren and 5 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and one brother Joseph Cuviello.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday October 11, 2014 at St. Bernard's Church. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
