Delores Vosburgh Reed, age 87, of 14 Kiwassa Road, Saranac Lake, died Saturday, November 15, 2014
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on October 15, 1927, she was the daughter of Gordon and Elsie (Ebare) Vosburgh. Delores married Calvin C. Reed on November 28, 1953 at St. Brendan’s Church in Keene.
Delores had been a life long resident of Saranac Lake and had been employed as a telephone operator for the New York Telephone Company for many years. She was also a 4-H leader and had volunteered with the board of elections for several years.
She is survived by her husband Calvin Reed, four children Karen Kenison of Lake Placid, Colleen Reed-Hough of Saranac Lake, Kevin Reed of Liverpool, and Christine Mock and her husband Scott of Newton, NJ, five grandchildren Kristi Kenison Arroyo, Joseph Kenison, Sarah Reed, Patricia Reed and Ryan Reed, and five great grandchildren Charles Doty Jr., Laura Lynn Doty, Morgan Dumas, Cameron Kenison and Tyrese Arroyo. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one brother Gordon Vosbourgh, one sister Gertrude Reed and one son-in-law Donald Hough.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with Rev. C.J. McAvoy officiating. Burial will take place at Corey’s Cemetery at a later date.
