Carol Patrie

Carol A. Patrie, age 86, of Willow Way, Saranac Lake, died Monday, December 22, 2014.

Born in Albany, New York on January 30, 1928, she was the daughter of Albert and Lelia (Franklin) Houghton.

Carol had been a resident of Saranac Lake for the past 3 years coming from Jay, NY where she had made her residence with her daughter for 16 years. Prior to that she had been employed as an education teacher for New York State-MRDD in Niskayuna for many years. She was a volunteer for the Whiteface Community Methodist Church Thrift Store in Wilmington. Carol had a great sense of humor and enjoyed bringing smiles to all those around her. She enjoyed quilting, puzzles, canoeing, horses and especially enjoyed fashion and shopping.

She is survived by one daughter Victoria Moore of Saranac Lake, one son Michael Patrie and his wife Dawn of Albany, four grandchildren, Michelle Hilgenhold, Amy Hills and her husband Wayne, Sara Siddons, and Michael Patrie and his wife Kayla, six great grandchildren Kayla Childs, Ryan and Lara Hilgenhold, Billy Siddons, Brittany and Adam Hills and two great-great grandchildren Zathan and Kristina. She is also survived by her good friend Sabrina Perryman.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
