Gary Sullivan, age 71, of Saranac Lake, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at C.V.P.H Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on January 24, 1944, he was the son of Daniel and Anne (Hathaway) Sullivan.
Gary was lifelong resident of Saranac Lake. He loved to play basketball, baseball, and jog all over town in his early years. He worked at the Saranac Lake General Hospital for 3 years in environmental services and later worked at North Country Community College for 7 years as a custodian. He enjoyed working there, until injuring back in the mid 1980's. He enjoyed reading, watching television and was an avid sports fan. He especially loved the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by one sister Casey Steiner and her husband Mark of Los Vegas, NV, one nephew Shawn Sullivan of Cranberry Township, PA, four great nieces and nephews Madison, Daniel, Katelyn, and Fiona Sullivan of Cranberry Township, PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers Richard and Ronald Sullivan.
Gary’s family will receive friends at the Uihlein Mercy Center Chapel on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at Uihlein with Rev. C.J. McAvoy officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
