Barbara Callaghan, age 80, of Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at her home.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on August 11, 1934, she was the daughter of Clarence and Loretta (Starks) Donaldson. Barbara married Bernard Callaghan on December 21, 1953 in Lake Clear, NY. He predeceased her on April 9, 2004.

Barba loved to spend her hours knitting and crocheting. She had an immense love for her family, friends, dogs and horses. She loved the many hours she spend at camp in Lake Clear enjoying the beauty and solitude.

She is survived by her loving daughter Loretta “Ret” Cudmore and her husband Scott of Newport Nova Scotia. 2 brothers, Ronald Donaldson of Apex, NC and Dale Donaldson of Yuma City, Ca; one step brother, John Kling of Lewisberry,PA, 2 step sisters, Dorthea (Kling) Carpenter of Tupper Lake, and Mary (Kling) Filsinger Prevatt of Clayton, NC, and a life time friend and cousin Pat (Powers) Knapp of Saranac Lake and a dear close Cousin, Norma (Donaldson) Young of Lake Clear and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a Sister Gail Donaldson, step sister and sister-in-law, Ida "Tyke" (Kling) Donaldson. She also leaves behind her Grand dog, Abbi.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM on Thursday June 25, 2015 at St. John’s Cemetery in Paul Smiths.
