Douglas Collins

Word has been received of the death of Douglas Henry "Doug" Collins, age 59, of Saranac Lake, NY formerly of Mineral, Virginia. at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY.

Doug was born on June 8, 1952 in Plattburgh, NY the son of Edgar and Dorothy (Benware) Collins. He married the former Doborah Johnson who predeceased him in October 2013.

Doug worked many jobs throughout his life including driving truck and more recently as an arborist for the Asplundh Tree Service in Mineral, Va.

Doug is survived by his son: William Collins of Saranac Lake, two daughters: Lisa (Robert) Meyers and Jodi Collins of Saranac Lake, and his brother Michael Collins of Utah. He is also survived by many Grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Doug was predeceased by his wife and his parents.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. At Doug's request there will be no calling hours and funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
