Eileen M. Downs

Eileen Marie Downs, age 78, of Gabriels, died Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid.

Born in Gabriels, New York on March 9, 1948, she was the daughter of Walter and Ethel (Fletcher) Downs.

Eileen was a lifelong resident of Gabriels and had worked at the American Management Association for many years until her retirement.

Eileen is survived by her brother-in-law Robert Tummons, nephews Walter and Allen Tummons, and her grand nephew Ryan Tummons. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one brother Lloyd Downs and two sisters Lillian Adamkorski and Frances Tummons.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday September 9, 2026 at Mt. View Cemetery in Gabriels with Rev. Eric Olsen officiating.
