Magaret "Maggie" Mae Strack

Margaret “Maggie” Mae Strack, age 83, of Sabastian, FL, died Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

Born in Plattsburgh New York on January 7, 1943, she was the daughter of Hubert and Grace (Ratelle) St. John.

Maggie was a long time resident of the Saranac Lake area. She was employed as a cook for many years at various area restaurants including 30 years at the Pleasant Corner Restaurant in Keeseville, NY. She also worked for the Adirondack Arc for many years until her retirement. Following retirement she continued to provide assistance and private duty care for the elderly.

She is survived by her husband Gerald Strack of Sabastian, FL, whom she married on August 16, 2025 in Bloomingdale, one daughter Yvonne Reynolds of Bloomingdale, one brother Ray St. John of Saranac Lake, two sisters Terry Isele of Weekiwachee, FL and Heidi Coventry of Saranac Lake, three grandchildren, Courtney and Jeremy Youngman of Champlain, Shannon Reynolds-Maroun of Saranac Lake, and Adam and Shauna Reynolds of Bloomingdale, eight great grandchildren, Logan, Cayden, Carsyn, Cohen, Carter, Lincoln, Easton and Grant and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, two sisters Patricia Ecret and Violet Dora, two brothers Arthur and Hubert St. John and one son-in-law George Reynolds.

Local funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday April 18, 2026 starting at 2:00 PM at the Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Station Hall. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
