Joanne Manning

Joanne P. Manning, age 73, of Lake Clear, NY passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family following a long illness.

Born in Ithaca, New York on February 18, 1948, she was the daughter of William and Ruth (Roskelly) Petty. Joanne married John F. Manning on July 25, 1970 in Saranac Lake, NY.

Joanne grew up in Saranac Lake where she attended local schools graduating from High School in 1965. She continued her education at SUNY Plattsburgh graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Language Arts. Following college, Joanne worked for NYS DEC taking care of their horses for several years.

She is survived by her husband John Manning of Lake Clear, NY, two daughters Christine (Stephen) Speer of Massena and MaryJo (Shaun) Trombley of Lake Clear and two grandchildren Logan Speer and Laura Trombley. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Hughes.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Saturday November 13, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
