After 93 years on her earthly pilgrimage, Phyllis McLaughlin, finally reached her eternal home on Thursday July 1, 2021, where she died at Mercy Living Center in Tupper Lake, NY.

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on June 23, 1928, she was the daughter of Louis and Catherine (O'Melia) Ray. She married The Rev. John N. McLaughlin on Saturday, October 1, 1949 in Franklin, MA.

Phyllis was a graduate of Dean Academy and holds an Associate’s degree from the Dean Junior College. Before marriage Phyllis worked as an Assistant Buyer for Conrad’s Department Store in Boston, MA.

She is survived by her husband The Rev. John N. McLaughlin of Saranac Lake, one son Wesley McLaughlin of Saranac Lake, and one daughter Nancy Nickerson of Ponte Verde, FL five grandchildren, one great grandchild and one brother David Ray of Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by one son Mark McLaughlin.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday July 13, 2021 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Saranac Lake with The Rev. Andrew Cruz-Lilligard officiating.
