Michael T. Finlayson

Michael T. Finlayson, age 57, of Saranac Lake, died Saturday, July 5, 2025 at his home.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on November 7, 1967, he was the son of Gary and Linda (Lavigne) Finlayson.

Michael was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and had worked as a taxi cab driver for many years for Lavigne’s Taxi Service, Corrow’s Taxi and Doty’s Taxi. Prior to that he had worked at the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center in Lake Placid. Michael also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his fiancé Gertrude Wilson of Saranac Lake, his father and mother Gary and Linda Finlayson of Saranac Lake, two brothers Dale (Patti) Finlayson and Gary Finlayson both of Plattsburgh, one sister Barb (Douglas) Snickles of Bloomingdale and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at 1:30 PM on Tuesday July 15, 2025 at Union Cemetery in Vermontville, with Rev. Martin Cline officiating.
