Michele Carol (Rondeau) Flynn, 82, formerly of Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake, died on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Plattsburgh Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born on April 4, 1944, in Glen Cove, New York, she was the daughter of Julia (Kaplinski) Rondeau and Armand Rondeau.

Michele grew up in Glen Cove, Long Island, graduating from Glen Cove High School in 1961 and earned a bachelor’s degree in education and teaching certificate from SUNY Potsdam in 1965. She taught in public schools in New York and New Jersey before moving to northern New York.

Michele married James Flynn in 1968 and had twin boys the following year, Andrew and Stephen. The family moved to Tupper Lake in 1976.

Michele began working at Sunmount DDSO in Tupper Lake in 1980 and retired in 2001. While her children were growing up, she volunteered for Cub Scouts and 4-H as a leader. She was in the women’s bowling league. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, volunteered at the Tupper Lake Food Pantry and was on the food pantry board as a member of her church. She worked at the Goff-Nelson Memorial Library before moving to Saranac Village at Will Rogers in Saranac Lake in 2013.

Michele was passionate about reading and traveling, and while at Will Rogers, she kept busy with jigsaw puzzles and helping with the facility’s library. While in Saranac Lake, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

For many years, Michele enjoyed social activities and traveled with a group of Tupper Lake friends who called themselves the “Golden Girls.” The friends consisted of Michele, Linda Perrigo, Elaine Cheney, Diana Savard (deceased) and Betty Moss.

Survivors include sons Andrew (Dawn) Flynn of Saranac Lake and Stephen Flynn and his partner Susan Watts of Littleton, Colorado; granddog Arabella of Saranac Lake; sister-in-law Madaline Rondeau of Sea Cliff, New York; and three nieces from Long Island, Kathrine Rondeau, Laura Rondeau, and Christine (Ken) Graham and their children, Maddy, KJ and Maeve.

Michele was predeceased by her parents and brother Joseph.

Arrangements are in the care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Saranac Lake. A memorial service will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 30 at Saranac Village at Will Rogers, 78 Will Rogers Dr., Saranac Lake. Her remains will rest in peace at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church columbarium, 8 Brentwood St., Tupper Lake.

Memorial gifts may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Saranac Lake, Tri-Lakes Humane Society of Saranac Lake, and St.Thomas Episcopal Church of Tupper Lake.
