Nancy L. Tanner, age 86, of Vermontville, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the Adirondack Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 7, 1939, in Lake Placid, she was the daughter of Doris Kennedy and Clayton Malark.

Nancy served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1960. She had an active lifestyle in Saranac Lake and was a licensed Beautician, starting in 1969. She later worked as an account manager in Telesales for the American Management Association until her retirement. She was a pioneer for the American Management Association introducing outbound telesales that is still extremely successful to this date and was known as Nantan to her AMA colleagues.

Nancy deeply loved her horses, playing bingo and especially spending time with her grandson.

She is survived by two children and Nana to one, Cynthia A. Goodman (Christopher) of Vermontville and Roy J. Tanner, III (JoJo) of Saranac Lake, and her grandson Cassidy R. Goodman of Vermontville. She is also survived by one sister Peggy Shene of Saranac Lake, and her niece Debra Mandigo and two nephews Lee Roger Mandigo and Joe Mandigo. She was predeceased by one niece Ann Salls and one nephew John Lee Mandigo.

Funeral arrangements are in care the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service with military honors will take place at the convenience of the family.
