Louise Jeanne Pearl, age 79, of Pine Street, Saranac Lake, died, Good Friday, April 3rd, 2015, at her home.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York, on June 9th, 1935, Louise was the daughter of Frank and Marie (O’Connor) LaPoint.

Louise lived with her sister, Margaret LaPoint in Saranac Lake for the past 30 years. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant at the Adirondack Correctional Facility for 14 years until her retirement in August 2000. Louise was an active member of St. Bernard’s Church where she enjoyed participating in the Bell Choir. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Bernard. She volunteered her time to help others at the Saranac Lake Adult Center, the Adirondack Medical Center, the Community Lunch Box and the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, among other charities.

She is survived by her son, Scott Pearl, his wife, Alison and their son, Aedan of Mount Vernon, NY, by her daughter, Jeanne Johnson, her husband Steve and their daughters, Kaley and Kara of Bergen, NY, and countless loved ones. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, her brother, Edward (“Bud”) LaPoint and her sister, Rita Torre.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, April 10th, 2015 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. A Catholic Daughters service will take place Friday evening at 6:45 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Church, with Father Thomas J. Higman officiating. Burial will take place in St. Bernard’s Cemetery later this Spring.
