Joseph A. Ratelle, Jr., 83, of Saranac Lake, NY died Friday, November 3, 2017 at his residence.

Born February 10, 1934 in Saranac Lake the son of Joseph A. and Louise M. (Favro) Ratelle, Sr. He married Patricia A. Tatlock on June 30, 1956 at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake. She predeceased him on November 11, 2005.

Joe attended Saranac Lake High School and worked in the trucking industry his entire life. Having worked for Hyde Fuel, Maddens Transfer and Storage, Frank and Sons, Stone Trucking, and most recently for Ivan Warner Trucking. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, his time at the casino, and Off-Track Betting (OTB).

He is survived by one daughter Katherine (Jeff) Strainer, of Hudson Falls, NY, three sons: Robert Clement of Saranac Lake, Joseph (Ann) Ratelle ,III of Lake Clear and Timothy Ratelle of Saranac Lake, two grandchildren Danielle (Jeff) LaPoint of Hudson Falls, and Jason Ratelle (Angela) of Peru, four great grandchildren, Adriana Armstrong of Hudson Falls, Jordan Ratelle of Chazy, Jason Ratelle of Saranac Lake and Karley Ratelle of Vermontville. He is also survived by his sister Ruth (Lynn) Whitney of Lake Clear.

Funeral arrangements in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 11, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
