Roger Stephenson, age 96, of Bloomingdale, died Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Bloomingdale, New York on November 20, 1929, he was the son of William and Daisy (Brown) Stephenson, Sr.

 Roger was a lifelong resident of Bloomingdale and had been employed at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the Town of St. Armand Highway Department and as a custodian at the Saranac Lake High School where eventually he retired from. Prior to that he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Panama for several years. Roger was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved to garden.

 He was preceded in death by his mother, father, four brothers Albert “Buddy”, William Jr., Robert and James Stephenson and two sisters Betty Rork, and Harriet Limpert.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Private funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family at a later date.
