Erika Sexton

Erika Leigh (Bova) Sexton passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday September 27, 2021 at the age of 48 in her home in Ray Brook, NY.

Erika was born in Saranac Lake, NY on September 15, 1973, the daughter of Edward and Judith (Hare) Bova. She married Jon Sexton who predeceased her.

Erika had a love for dogs, gardening and making jewelry and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her children and other children that called her “mom”. She was a loving and caring and always offered her help and her home to a friend in need.

Erika is survived by her life partner, Daniel Dederick, her children Cassandra, Kieran, Kitiara and Christian Sexton, step-son Billy Sexton and grandchildren Julien, Emery, Tanner and Raiden. She is also survived by her siblings Michael Bova, Linda Bova, Laurie Bova, Robin Centerbar, Candice Miller, Becky Valenze, Michael Valenze, Alan Valenze and Peter Valenze along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Erika was predeceased by her husband Jon, her parents Edward and Judith Bova and her sister Kelly Bova.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake. Calling hours are scheduled for Tuesday October 5, 2021 from 11:00am until 12:00pm with a Memorial service at 12:00pm with the Reverend Paul Kelly Officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Union Cemetery in Vermontville, NY. COVID-19 restrictions are in effect and all are reminded that masks are required for anyone attending any service at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home regardless of vaccination status.
