Kristie I. Smith, age 47, of Saranac Lake, died Saturday, October 15, 2022.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on October 30, 1974, she was the daughter of Randy and Lynn (Courtney) Smith, Jr.

Kristie attended and graduated from Saranac Lake High School. She later attended North Country Community College and went on to graduate from Paul Smiths College with a bachelor’s of science degree in Recreation, Adventure, Travel and Eco Tourism. After graduating from college Kristie worked for Norwegian Cruise Lines as a Recreation Director. Currently Kristie was working as a waitress at the Hotel Saranac. Kristie was a world traveler, traveling all across the globe including two trips to Africa, South East Asia and many other amazing places. She was an avid Phish fan, often traveling to many of their concerts. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and her cats Tigerlily and Jellyfish. She also loved hiking, kayaking and gardening.

She is survived by one son Jeremy Florence of Potsdam, her father and mother Randy and Lynn Smith, Jr, of Bloomingdale, one sister Michelle Banker of Saranac Lake, her grandmother Geneva Courtney of Saranac Lake, one niece (Taylor (Tyler) Exware of Tupper lake, 3 great nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday October 21, 2022. A celebration of life will take place at a later date to be announced.
