TUPPER LAKE- Theodore F. Staves, 72, of River Road, Tupper Lake, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at CVPH in Plattsburgh. Born January 25, 1936 in Old Forge, he was the son of Theodore and Mary (McDonnald) Staves. A graduate of Tupper Lake High School, Ted was an electrician with Local IBEW for 48 years. He retired in 1998. Ted was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Cold Springs, Nomis and Buck Horn hunting clubs. He also was a member of the Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Dept for over 25 years serving as Asst. Chief and was a member of Company 5 retired members. He is survived by his wife Pauline, one daughter, Debbie Lowdnes of Lake Clear, three sons, Tom and his wife Cindy of Tupper Lake, Steve of Central Square, Jeff and his life partner Brandy Smith of Brushton, 7 grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren, one stepdaughter Christy Faison and her husband Tony of Ballston Lake, 3 step grandchildren, two sisters, Judy Burgdorf and her husband Jim of Williamson, NY, Cindy Bailey and her husband Robin of Waterford, NY, one brother Jim Staves of Oswego. He was pre-deceased by a sister Ellen Sochia. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 19 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire dept.
