Carol Vanpelt

October 21, 1946 — July 22, 2023

Carol Lynne Fisher Van Pelt, 76, was surrounded by her loving family when she went home to the Lord on July 22, 2023. She is survived by her daughters Sharyn Penrose (Brian), Jennifer Samarel (Dan), and Jessica Mabry (Vance). Carol is also survived by her brother Harry Fisher and his wife Mary, sister-in-law Kim Fisher, stepmother JoAnn Fisher, her sisters Leigh-Ann Ott (John), Lorraine Palmer (Mike), Gina Smith, as well as four beloved grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carol graduated from Steinert High School and went on to work for more than 30 years in banking at various institutions. A favorite among her co-workers and customers, she took great pride in caring for every single one.

Carol was a loving and protective daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, friend, and teacher, often lending her ear and empathy to any problem, or her great artistic ability to assist in many creative projects. Her voice was home to those who knew her and conversations with her in the home, on the porch, or on the phone could last hours. Carol was a lifelong Christian and a prayer warrior who spent much time praying for those in need within her family, friends, her community, and beyond. She was generous with her time and volunteered

as an integral part of the local food pantry, where she met many kindred spirits and helped those in need.

Carol spent earlier years developing her artistic gift, nurturing a love of horses through horseback riding, and enjoyed fishing with her brothers Harry Fisher, the late Tom Fisher, and the late Rick Fisher. She spent many summers visiting with her family at her favorite place Long Beach Island. Her fondest hobbies were sketching various subjects dear to her heart as well as surf fishing with her brothers Tom and Harry. Carol made her last earthly home in a lovely hamlet in the Adirondacks.
