Charles “Bob” R. Woodard, age 71, of Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on November 16, 1945, he was the son of Edmund and Lillian (Harvey) Woodard.
Bob attended and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1963. He later attended and Graduated from Potsdam State University with a bachelor’s degree. Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1964 to 1968. He returned to Saranac Lake and worked for the Saranac Lake News Company, Casier’s Furniture and later for American Management Association until he had to retire due to his health in 1996. Bob was a member of the Saranac Lake American Legion and enjoyed playing cards and loved to read.
He is survived by one brother Edmund (Linda) Woodard of Saranac Lake, one sister Marlene (Tom) Mull of Plattsburgh, one daughter Raenene Woodard of Saranac Lake, one aunt Eunice Coolon of Saranac Lake, three grandchildren Alexis, Jayden and Brayden and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service to be announced will take place in the spring at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
